Aims/ Objectives/ Rationale:

The module offers a framework for understanding policy activities in public governance. It demonstrates the link between conceptual issues and policy practice. It offers analysis of policy processes within a broader policy environment that includes policymakers, policy advocates and other stakeholders. Students will be expected to learn about the essential institutional and legal conditions for successful policy management. The course is also designed to facilitate their conceptualization of comparative policy practices in this era of globalization. Students will have an idea as to whether Western policy concepts and process models can be applicable in Brunei Darussalam in particular and non-Western countries generally. The presentation of case studies of best practices will help them to have clear perception about the role of leadership in policy development and implementation.
