Aims/ Objectives/ Rationale:
This module aims to inform students about the nature and scope of social policies and how these are related to the process of national development in general and Brunei in particular. Students will be able to apply key concepts drawn from a range of social policy areas and do a comparative study to highlight significant trends in policy responses. On completion, students will have a deeper understanding of the roles of the state, the market, social enterprise, household and sustainable livelihoods, participation and community development.
